Judson Steinback

Born in Chicago, Judson fell in love with the Coulee Region and moved here when he was 18. A Renaissance man of sorts, Judson has worked as a landscaper, outdoor adventure guide, folk musician, and Waldorf teacher prior to founding Coulee Region Ecoscapes, LLC. He has a master’s degree in Education and B.A. degrees in Spanish, History, and Comparative Religious Studies, and he has extensively studied the art and science of gardening and landscaping. Judson also loves paddling, fly fishing, biking, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. He has a deep respect for the environment and loves to help his customers create and care for their outdoor spaces.

Jarad Barkeim

     As a child, Jarad Barkeim spent countless hours outside hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, and building forts in the Coulee Region.  To this day, Jarad continues to spend much of his time outside and is passionate about the land and the community of people that derive their sustenance from this land.  Jarad has a BS from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse  Education Department, is a certified Permaculture* designer, and is a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor.  He has extensive experience working on conservation projects and building hiking trails with the US Forest Service and Conservation Corps programs in the western US.  For the past three years, he has taught, organized, participated in, and facilitated a number of Natural Building and Permaculture workshops in the area.  With his unique set of skills and abilities, Jarad hopes to help regenerate the health and resiliency of the land and the community of people in the Coulee Region.

Jeremy Burt 

From Centerville, WI, Jeremy Burt has worked as a forestry conservationist  for federal, state, county and non-profit agencies for more than a decade. He has been a  supervisor of conservation crews, built hiking trails, fought wildfires as a hotshot in 17 different states, and has been a park ranger in the state of Florida. Jeremy is also a certified arborist with the WAA and ISA, and he is passionate about planting and caring for trees in the area. Jeremy also holds certifications including Firefighter Type I, FEMA Incident Commander Type 5, and has an Associate’s degree in Environmental Studies. Jeremy came back home to be near family and to work to improve the land and community with which he feels most connected.
